I am in the market for a big screen TV but 3D is not even a criteria. The premium that this adds to the TV, player and media far outweighs the benefit. A couple of stores I visited could not find a 3D movie, or the glasses or the batteries were dead. All of these further solidified the fact that I don’t need this technology. After I found a store that had everything set up I admit the effect is great but I would not want to watch every movie in 3D. The movies tend to over exaggerate the distance between layers and the effect looks artificial, I guess they have to do this because viewers watching a 3D movie are expecting to be wowed.

If the TV/player I get has 3D I will probably get a movie or two to show my guests (all two of them since most packages only come with two pairs of glasses) but I will probably not pay the premium to buy/rent movies for home. As far as the theater I only go to the discount theater after a movie has been out a while. My video/audio experience is better than a theater anyway. If I miss my shoes sticking to the floor I guess I can put down some double sided duct tape!

I enjoyed visiting the Parade the Circle on Saturday. There were many unique ideas, many were very impressive others, they gave it their best shot.

I have been watching Ann Curry for years because she is cute and funny but I didn’t realize what she has done…

EVERYHING!

They did a short montage of a lot of the stories on which she has worked. I had no idea that she has been around that long and done so many activities. If I did only a fraction of what she has done or meet only a few of the people that she has interviewed it would more than fulfill my bucket list. She has been sky diving, skiing, sailing, just to name a few. She has met actors, singers, dignitaries, politicians and presidents. As a newscaster she had access to places the rest of us can only dream about, even the South Pole! If I had to come back as someone else I think a newscaster would be a great opportunity for an exciting life. You go Ann!

I have told several of my younger friends that using Twitter is like having a blindfold on with a bucket over my head in a pitch black closet talking to my “followers”. Even if they did care that I had grape jelly on toast for breakfast. I’m not sure they are even at their computer or phone, have their twitter app running and if so that they are even paying attention. My tweets have usually gone unnoticed as well as most of the tweets from people I follow, or so I thought.

Today I sent a tweet about a computer programming problem I was having. My coworker told me he wasn’t sure how to accomplish the task I wanted but within minutes my tweet had a reply from one of my friends with one line of code that took less than a minute to insert. The problem was solved and I got to call my programmer and tell him the good news. Maybe Twitter does have its place. BTW I had a slice of cold pizza for breakfast this morning
